The second cigar from Curivari Cigars that I will review is from the Reserva Limitada Reserva 1000 Series.
The size that I had been given is actually called the Reserva 2000. It is a 5x50 robusto size. This medium/full cigar has a dark brown, oily wrapper, with some minimal veins.
After a quick cut with my Palio, the prelight draw offered up some slight cocoa and leather. The first third of the cigar had a rich taste of cocoa and leather, and some pepper/spice in the background.
The second third of the cigar saw the leather come to the forefront, while the cocoa was more diminished than it was in the opening third. Coffee notes were detectable in the background at this point as well.
By the final third, the cocoa flavor had disappeared. The cigar had a cedar and wood flavor, with minor notes of leather, coffee and spice in the background.
This cigar was quite enjoyable, and I will definitely smoke it again. However, if I had to choose between this one and the Gloria de Leon I previously reviewed, I would take the Gloria de Leon. However, as I mentioned, the price points for the cigars from Curivari are quite nice, which makes it easy to be able to keep both in the humi.
Time to smoke this cigar was about 2 hours....I can't believe I was able to take that long to smoke a robo. The burn line on this cigar was almost razor sharp most of the way. The ash was a light grey, almost white. I hope the construction and burn are as good on all of Curivari's cigars like they have been with the two I have reviewed.
