I previously had reviewed the Forcade, which is the newest cigar from Forcade cigars. Next up for review is the Giralda natural cigar. This was the original offering from Forcade, and is blended by Jaime Garcia, and rolled by My Father Cigars. Although it wasn't a new release at IPCPR, this is the first time I have come across this brand, so I will still include it as a "new" cigar...at least to me.
The Giralda is a medium body cigar, covered with a slightly oily, Ecuadorian wrapper. It has a Nicaraguan/Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan filler. Construction is very good, with a nice triple cap, and some slight veins in the wrapper.
Pre-light, the cigar has a clean tobacco flavor, with a little bit of spice. Upon lighting, the first third of the Giralda has flavors of graham cracker and honey, with some lite spice and pepper on the tongue.
The middle third of the cigar offers a leafy profile. There is also still some honey mixed in, along with a little cedar and spice. The pepper has disappeared.
The final third of the Giralda has a primary flavor of cedar. Mixed within are bits of graham cracker and honey, along with some spice, dry wood and slight pepper.
The Giralda left a very pleasant sweet/spicy (almost peppery) cedar flavor on the palate. I enjoyed this cigar quite a bit....which doesn't surprise me, as I do enjoy a great deal of what My Father Cigars releases.
Overall burn time was 90 minutes.
