Curivari Cigars offered up a set of six cigars, featuring a sample of each of their cigars within the current line. Curivari is based out of Esteli. Their cigars are Nicaragua puros. All of the cigars in the catalog are offered in 10-count boxes only. The price point for these guys should be great too...probably no more than 7 bucks (based on what I was seeing).
The first cigar I am reviewing from their line is the Gloria de Leon Fuerza, a 4 1/2 x 50 cigar. The cigar has a nice red/brown wrapper, with a nice oily shine to it. There are some slight veins but nothing that could potentially affect the burn.
After a crisp, clean cut with my Palio, the pre-light draw on this cigar offered up hints of cocoa and spice. Upon lighting the first third was loaded with a sweet taste of cocoa, spice, caramel, and there were undertones of raisin and coffee (especially on the retro-hale).
The second third of the cigar brought coffee to the fore-front. The cocoa moved to the background, but was still present. The hints of raisin were joined with a slight taste of nutmeg.
The final third of the cigar had a pleasant cedar taste as a main flavor. Coffee, a peppery spice and nutmeg rounded out the flavor.
The burn and ash on this cigar was almost as impressive as the flavor was! The burn was nice and straight, while the ash held strong two thirds of the way down (until I accidentally bumped it before the picture of the last third...I bet it could have held longer).
This cigar lasted over 90 minutes...and quite frankly, I didn't want it to end. I was very impressed with the flavors within this smoke. I would recommend buying this one without hesitating.
