What's new
  • I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back

Is it time to end this thing?

With Jorge's difficulty in getting orders in, do we need to shut this down? Something tells me that if one of us consistently orders 3-4 boxes a month, we're gonna get redflagged pretty quick. The alternative is to have someone different order each month but that becomes a logistical nightmare.

So are we nearing the end?

One idea would be for us to slow down buying (every other month). Another is to maybe just pair off every so often and split boxes two ways. For example, I have been wanting some BBF's (well documented), so I throw that out...

Who wants to split a box of BBF with me? Someone agrees, we determine who will buy the box, and take it from there. That way we keep it within the group, much more distributed buying patterns, and don't have to worry about someone flaking out, and not sending the sticks, because what happens in Club Siete Estrellas, stays in Club Siete Estrellas.

If we do it that way, we could try and make sure no one has to order a box more frequently than once in a 3 month period, it could be a rule. Because, I really enjoy ticketless check-in's at the airport.

Thoughts?

maybe jorge got on the list becasue he sells helicopters to foreign governments now.

I kinda feel like the recent snags have been anomalies. However, there could be some modifications to the group which would allow those concerned to rest easier.

oh, and the foreign government being Columbia may also be a contributing factor.

rotating for now would be the best, or limit the orders to promo or other rebanding vendors only. the problem I'm having is with intact orders.

I got some guys in law enforcement checking to see if there is anything on me that might at least clear me from the "list". I also have a casual acquaintance in customs, but I wouldn't feel comfortable calling in a favor from him right now.

another thing we might do is perhaps have b.j. be in charge of ordering and taking in payments. then he can "drop" ship the boxes to whomever volunteers to do the actual splits and shipping. I have done this when sending presents, but that was only limited to just one box. I don't know if ravi or roni would have a problem with sending multiple boxes to an address different than the billing address as they might see that as a fraudulent charge on a card. :dunno:

I have always ordered from different vendors when ordering multiple boxes, but that raises prices as some charge for shipping, and others are just more expensive than ravi and roni. but doing that is an even bigger hassle and raises prices.

I think the idea of using Promo is a good one. I really could care less about the bands. If I want some, I'll order whole boxes. If it comes to sampling, who cares.

Ravi has good prices but not so much that I'm willing to risk getting a letter.

Bands are of no concern to me either as long as we know the box codes. I just want the smokes.
