Went outside this morning to see what the dog was carrying on about, saw this guy in a face off with Fat Kat, head was raised about a foot off the ground and ready to strike, I got the cat to back off and threw a stick at the snake to try and convince him to move along,he moved about 5 feet and bowed up again, I threw another stick and he came at me! So,,,

I've only ever seen rattlers dead on the road down here, and only now and then. Mostly have copperheads and moccasins. That is scary.

That said, you gonna eat it?

No, the Hawk’s can have it. If he had moved on I would have let him go but I can’t have one that close to the house.

Around here we're up to our third copper head of the year. Two young ones and a bitty baby. It is near guaranteed that one of the dogs will get bit around August.

A few years ago, I was walking out to the truck and heard a rattler in some leaves. It raised up out of the leaves and I mag dumped a Glock 26 in to that thing.

I don't take chances with anything that can delete me from the census.

Part of me would sorta want to eat him to spite him further. Had a bull (male cow) try to actually kill me once. I ate him. Tough as shoe leather but no chance I was gonna keep anything that evil around.

That's a beautiful diamondback. I will kill them if they are anywhere near my house as I have a lot of pets. If they are large enough in the wild I will make them supper. Crazy thing about cats and snakes is a cat's reaction time is much faster than a snake and a cat can typically swat away a striking snake.
