A light cut above the first cap was applied. This cigar draws well so you don’t have to take much off. Cold draw provided an interesting musk, similar to what I would think hay dipped in dark chocolate would taste like. Beautiful wrapper on this cigar, slightly toothy with a nice oily shine.
Flame
I toasted the foot with a Xikar EX soft flame. First puff is full of flavors, takes you a min to really understand what is going on. It’s clear that spices dominate the first puff. A light pepper on the retrohale is quickly chased out by a sweeter, more inviting cinnamon that warms the mouth. As the cinnamon dies out you find a roasted almond that lingers in the mouth. Very comforting flavors.
The flavors start to transition around an inch in. The retrohale becomes very sweet, and my palate is overwhelmed by a rush of toasted graham cracker. The nuttiness from before along with the punch of cinnamon makes for a delightfully creamy combination. A welcomed pepper kick follows to the finish.
The flavors continue to slowly progress throughout the halfway point. It isn’t until about the finally third mark to where I can note a significant change. The cinnamon slowly has been building. With the addition of the cinnamon, the creaminess has been push farther away, but still lingers. The warming nuttiness remains giving my palate the memory of roasted almonds with a dash of cinnamon and sugar. Flavors have been great and the burn has been good.
In Summary
I quite enjoyed this cigar. Its medium bodied throughout with bold pronounced flavors that keep you wanting more. The combination of the cinnamon and toasted graham cracker was a real winner in my book. Cigar is priced very affordable, at around 8 dollars. I would give this cigar based on flavor, affordability, construction, and overall experience… a 9/10 Thanks for reading and long ashes -Brandon
