Just saw it...really great movie. Makes you think. I'd like to see it again. I get the feeling that some things in the movie might have had a political slant (cough), but nonetheless...

Anyone else watch it yet?

Let me re-itterate....there is a political message, but that's not the movie at all. As the movie goes on, it seems to go away. Not sure if I just got accustomed to it or not, but regardless.

The guys in the movie are very gung-ho-let's-go-kill-us-some-towel-heads. I have a lot of friends who were in the service, and a few that were marines. They said the gung-ho is there, but not nearly to that degree. The rest was spot on.

That was kind of the point though...not much action, just like the golf war. It was one of those movies I could tell was based off a book. Understandably not for everyone.

I work a security job on the side and we were contracted to work a movie theater in NoVa this weekend because of the 50Cent movie that came out. I caught about 30 minutes of different moments of Jarhead. It looked great and Jamie Foxx was teriffic. Very intense. Can't wait to see the whole thing.

I rented the DVD a few weeks ago. It had some good parts and some lame ones. In that same light, while I thought the entertainment value was on the low side, it did give a fairly realistic viewpoint.
