So recently while I was in the USA, I got to buy 2 5-packs of JFuego cigars, Originals Size. I bought the Sangre de Toro and the Origen. Having AngelTaveras close, and since he had never taste a JFuego before, I took 2 Sangre de Toro...one for him and one for me, and we lit it up! Here's the pack:
Specifics:
Country: Honduras
Wrapper : Nicaraguan Colorado
Filler : Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo
Binder : Nicaraguan Criollo
Size : 5 x 44
Vitola : Original/Cheroot
Price : ~$2 each
- Great burn. I only had to give 2 touch-ups. It was NOT Razor-sharp, but pretty good.
- The draw was perfect, with the exact amount of resistance.
- The construction is average, but hey, that's how they sell it: weird "original" construction, which is made handmade. So no complains there.
- Good ash, it was kinda strong at some points with some small spots being flaky.
- At first, it was mild-med strength, REALLY SMOOTH. The last third, the strength changed...it became full strength.
- The smoke was light for the first third but after that, a thick smoke.
- It was medium-full flavor. I got pure tobacco and earth tones, some pepper (Angel said it was white pepper), some sweetness and some leather. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that pepper mixed with sweetness...i've had peppery cigars which had sweetness but one overpowered the other one...In this case, the pepper and the sweetness complement each other making the cigar a smooth, enjoyable cigar.
Smoking time = 1 hour (Heck, I was expecting 45minutes, altho Angel finished at 50 minutes, since he's a faster smoker than I am)
Conclusion??? GREAT small bomb...They are going to become my go-to short smokes. At $2 bucks a piece, heck...i'll buy the whole box.
