Shwing!

I thought you guys might be jonsing for a thumb tuck..
Robusto Extra?
Nice chocolate wrapper; firm, even roll
Opening few puffs: A lot of creamy nuttiness with a harsh spice that lingers in the sinus for a good 30-45 seconds after retro-ing. Medium strength.
A sweetness is finding its way onto the palate at about an inch in. There's a hint of leather and lots of pepper through the schnozzola. Excellent draw and burn line through the first third. At first the profile had me thinking Viaje and now it reminds me of a warped blend (although the size and wrapper have me knowing its just a similarity)
Second third reveals some added depth to the sweetness I picked up in the beginning. The peppery retro is still bangin'. Creamy nuttiness is still the foundation of the profile. The strength has stayed even at medium. I'm pairing this stick with some coffee I snagged out of the coffee and cigar pass. I messed up the brew though...I put the coffee in the press and then accidentally poured some of the water out of my cup into the carafe instead of the tea pot...lol so I just left it and boiled the rest to pour over. I'm going to make another cup right after to see what kind of difference it made in the brew. The sweetness has brought out some wood and a wine like finish.
The flavors are full but finish clean which brings this smoke to a whole other level. Sometimes a full flavored smoke's profile becomes a bit muddled and the flavors meld together becoming indistinguishable, either from the start or through the finish. These flavors stand out on their own nicely. The pepper blast on the retro does get in the way just a bit but you know me and pepper n spice....it's a love affair. The cream stays into the final third, along with the peanut and spice. The sweetness has shined brighter in some spots more than others. The smoke is becoming a bit dry in the finish. The spice just kicks ass the whole way through, never giving an inch.
I'm really happy that the finish is clean. It's really nice to have a stick that gives so much flavor and spice but leaves the palate clean on the finish. The strength has stayed consistent at medium, the whole way through. So with that, I'm sticking with my original guess; Viaje. If you want a full flavored, medium strength, pepper Bomb that finishes clean.. Then this is the smoke for you. Thank you Joe for the opportunity to smoke this beautiful stick. It smoked wonderfully: nice and slow, even and cool to the nub.
