  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Any clones out there?

I would say that I am a semi-regular listener, not really hardcore. The show has definitely changed over the last 10 years. He takes a lot less calls than he used too. It seems like the show is more about his opinion being gospel. I do like the interviews that he has, he's not afraid to ask questions. I do find now there is a lot more talk about BS than sports.

Just my take, I am out.

personally, i find his schtick gets old real quick. his show here locally has dropped in listeners consistantly. think he is probably more accepted on the coasts.

The ratings in the Green Bay market are fairly strong. He recently has had about a dozen interviews will current a former Packer players. I think he is a closet Packer fan.

I do agree with you that it does get old, when he starts going on a rant, I usually change the channel.

My morning commute give me the option of Jim Rome or Colin Cowherd.

Colin is a douchebag/elitist/shell of a sports fan (salads in baseball parks? only rooting for whatever team is winning?)
...and Jim Rome talks about nothing but has really good guest interviews.

Sometimes when I go in early I get Dan Patrick which is a nice departure.

I gotta say I have no interest in listening to Rome. He is just really bland and almost robotic to me. Colin Cowherd is the man. He tells it like it is, has great insight and opinion, and he is funny as hell. Herd is brutally honest as I am and some people just can't handle it. A lot of people today need things sugarcoated (both figuratively and literally) and when Herd and people in general don't do that people think they are jerks, when they aren't. He crushes Rome, hands down. Also, I love Michelle Beadle.
