  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just built me a new smoker

Thanks ribdoctor. I'll try that one. I was unsure of how to bend it smoothly, but I guess it really doesn't matter. It's just going to hold charcoal and wood.

Are you on a BBQ team? The team I cook with is "MoKan Meatheads" out of Kansas City. We are using a Lang and a few purchased barrels, I'm looking to build a few extra so we can cook more than one competition on a given weekend. We've had top ten finishes in the past six KCBS compeitions including the Great American cooking primarily on UBS smokers.

nope, I'm not on a team, I wish I had time to cook on a team, just a backyard weekend warrior...but always looking to help a fellow junkie.

Nice idea. As low as the inlet port is on the barrel, you may have to raise the barrel off the ground to get a decent sized fire box to attach lower than the inlet port. A five gallon metal can and some metal flex hose will get you in business pretty quick!

My roommate and I are planning to turn our current grill into a smoker once we buy a new grill. Thanks for the helpful links!
