  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Kiffin replaces Pete Carroll, who jumped to the NFL as coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

Man how lucky is Lane Kiffin. stinks with the raiders, somehow lands the tennessee job, hits controversy, and now gets a prize like USC. Hope he can do it with all the sanctions the NCAA is gonna hit them with

I was indifferent with Lane, but now think he's a total douche for leaving Tenn high and dry after just one year...

As a Tennessee fan, this is very disappointing that he would leave after one season. The team was getting better and he had the full support of the student body and school. This is insane imo.:pitchfork

I dont know how any of these kids and/or parents can trust anything ANY college head coach tells them. The upside is that all SC players should have the keys to their new Escalades very soon!!!! Fight on!!!!

no matter how good Tennessee was to coach for, i bet it would be tough for almost any coachto turn down a complete 5 year pete carroll recruiting roster

The odd thing is that Pete couldve put it on cruise control at SC and jsut continued racking up the recruits and turning out winnig seasons. The Seattle job is gonna be tough. No WB, no RB, not great receivers (Houshmazadas is getting old and they overpaid), OK defense but needs work. I guees the 2 top 15 picks in this draft should help but not a great situation up in Seattle right now...

Wow!! I still can't believe they offered Kiffin the job! Kiffin is the luckiest damn person. Oh well, glad to be rid of him in the SEC.

But now that Carroll is leaving those kids can opt-out of their commitments!

Based on rumors of USC's interests in coaches, sounds like Kiffin was their 10th choice... LOL

Da** it!!! Just when you think something good will happen we lose head coach and the offensive coordinator. TN fans was blocking the street and burning mattress to stop him. I miss TN so bad now lol.

As it relates to Tennessee, the backlash of Kiffin leaving has already started, as of yesterday, five of their top recruits have decommited and will be going to other colleges.

I'm also indifferent to Kiffin. I feel bad for the Tennessee players and fans. USC is Kiffin's dream job. A job that wouldn't be available for long. I get that. I'd definitely leave my current employer to be the Sports Illustrated official oil boy (my dream job). Everyone is angry because he made promises and didn't keep them. They have a right to be angry. This affected the lives of many people. A family moved from California to Tennessee so their son could play at Tennessee. Anyway. That's what you get with slick recruiters. I'm kind of glad it's over. He was bringing attention to Vol nation, but not the good kind of attention.
