  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I don't know, after his lackluster performance in his last fight I would imagine Kimbo comes in strong. All he has to do is catch Shamrock with one good shot and this thing could be over.

Seth beat his ass. Kimbo is nothing anymore. Well, maybe broke now that he might lose his sponsors..Not sure how they will feel with a loss. Overrated big boy. He actually showed no heart tonight. 10 years ago, I would have gone with Kimbo. After tonight's view of him, I am not even sure he could have beaten Shamrock.

Over hyped and over played man had zero credibility before this fight and I'm pretty sure his career's over now just goes to prove that guys who say any thug off the street can fight in the UFC don't know jack.

Oh they haven't run this well dry yet. They will tout him as the man from the streets that became honorable and took the fight despite the risks. I am sure they will put some spin on this. People are still interested to see him fight as well, call me crazy, but I would absolutely tune in for another Kimbo fight right now if I could. Sort of like Tyson as he was losing it. You knew that things might not go right, but the chance of getting 30 secs of the old Mike was all you needed and that fight was over.

That was a sad fight. I liked watching him when he did backyard brawls with other big guys. But this is the big leagues here.

The thing with Tyson was that the man simply laid to waste the WHOLE heavy weight division before the ref forgot how to count to 10 and he ended up loosing to Buster Douglas, going to jail and loosing his marbles (may be Robin Givens should get an honourable mention).. Kimbo on the other hand as has been rightly pointed out fought mostly buffed up chumps off the street and that's about it.. sure he took the fight at short notice but then again so did the other guy he came to the building thinking he would fight in the under card not Kimbo, the guy's a light heavyweight, he took a bigger gamble in my book.

I don't dispute one word of what you said, I was trying to make the point that the people in Kimbo's camp will find a way to spin this, probably with the aid of Elite XC, we all know Kimbo is the cash cow right now, Elite wants him back, CBS wants him back, I think he will be back. I would still not say that Kimbo is a chump. The street fights he was involved in at the start were no joke. Those were some big dudes with nothing to lose. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

More than likely they'll let kimbo back to fighting in the streets and treat him like a dog eating gun powder...Once he beats the snot out of a dozen no name guys they'll arrange a fight... might even see Kimbo in tuff man contest. just my .02

Kimbo is done with Eltie XC. He is and has been a joke for a long time. The fans could careless about him anymore. They want and demand good fights. Period. They don't like 14 second fights, which makes them feel like they did not get their money's worth. I still say that as old as Shamrock is in fight years, he still would have walked away with the win. Kimbo thought he would fight another no name fighter and take a win. Cept, Seth is not a now name and has game.

Kimbo will be back fighting back street fights again no doubt, but his days on the Elite XC circuit are done for a while. Besides, Elite XC cannot compete with UFC yet. I do agree that when Kimbo started out in the old days and street brawls, he had game, but with age and constant pounding, skills gets less sharp and you lose game. Look at Gracie when he game back and fought Matt Hughes. Everyone swore Gracie was going to win, but I went with Hughes and won money too!..

The octagon is much different than back street fighting.

Just my 2 cents worth.

i think Kimbo is gonna comeback a little bit more humble and who knows maybe a little bit more experienced. We will probably see fighters stepping up to fight him now that they see he can be beat and over hyped...he can box, but he leaves his head wide open, cant do that with well rounded MMA fighters...being from Otown, Im glad Seth won....

And real MMA fans LOVE 14sec fights!

I think EliteXC was banking their future on Kimbo v. Shamrock and after Kenny pulled out and Kimbo got knocked out I don't see much of a future for them.. perhaps they may survive a bit longer with Affliction's help but I don't see Affliction giving their fighters to EliteXC on a regular basis, they might as well just have a card of their own and probably would make a lot more and generate a lot more buzz for their event than putting a fighter on some one elses card.

I strongly believe Ken would've snapped Kimbo's ankle, he was simply disrespectful to a Hall of Famer (what was he thinking turning his back on Ken at the weigh in?). Ken was seriously pissed they should've just let them go at it then and there.. but if its any consolation I'd still tune in to watch Ken beat Kimbo as long as I don't have to pay for it.

On a side note any one see how bored Arlovski looked when he had to fight Big Country??
