I was wondering if anyone has tried any of Kinky Friedman's Texas Cigars?

http://www.kinkycigars.com/

I was thinking of trying a sampler for $47.00

Sampler includes:
(1) The Governor
(1) Kinkycristo
(1) The Willie
(1) Texas Jewboy
(1) Utopian
-All Made by Nester

Kinky always makes me laugh.

I tried the Kinkycristo, from a bomb someone gave me..i think Benzo. My family are huge Kinky fans, so they got a kick out of it. Not that great of a smoke

LOL....Just teasing guys....met him up at the local shop in Grapevine a few months ago. He's a genuinely funny guy, quite the author too, I've read a few of his books...he's sort of a "Texas Treasure" if you will (but one man's trash is another treasure...I know that Kinky would appreciate that sentiment!)...LOL

Little Jewford was there too, his right-hand man...he's a trip.

OK, for the cigars, from what I recall (been several months since I've smoked one, and I smoked all of the Kinky's)....I like the Utopian the best and then probably the Texas Jewboy. They're nice cigars but overpriced for what they are (then again, aren't most cigars?). But I think it's worth it every once and awhile. I wasn't a fan of the Kinkycristo...too mild for me.

The nice thing about the Utopian (from http://www.kinkycigars.com/inc/sdetail/172): "The Utopian is the only cigar in the world that helps animals. Profits from sales of this cigar will benefit its namesake Kinky's Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch. Utopia is a nonprofit "never-kill" shelter that rescues abandoned and/or abused animals, nurtures them and places them with loving families. Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch relies on the generous support of friends and animal lovers to continue rescuing and caring for the many animals that find refuge there. For more information go to Friends of Utopia."
