Quality Importers bought out Palio and all of the brands accessories. The article as written by half wheel states that QI will most likely move production overseas. (China)
The lifetime warranty will stay in place. (You'll just receive a new Chinese model as a replacement)
IMO I don't see cost going down to the consumer , so IMO there is no need to support Palio products going forward. (For me and my dollars)
I own two Palios currently 2008 and 2010 production models. I've never had to use the warranty and have cut several thousand cigars with each.
I'll be buying one more made in the USA (to have as a third.) Even if I only need it 10 years from now, just to have in case one of the originals break.
Just thought this information would be very useful to guys who are considering purchasing cutters in the near future.

The cutters have thin blades that will eventually get a burr. Seems like all you're doing is buying what will eventually be a Chinese cutter.

Ironically, with Cuban Crafters taking over and possibly making changes, the Palio might actually stand up better to regular use. I've had problems with two Palios, none with my Cuban Crafters!

I'd be truly surprised if that were the case. Their production of other bladed products, from what I've seen, has been spotty at best.
