I smoked this cigar, which was in a sampler pack which I recently received. Since today was my double shift and I had little sleep, I spent some time enjoying life and smoked this cigar.
The Manufacture/retailer describes the cigar:
Made in the spirit of an elite Cuban cigar, the Kristoff allows you to experience the rich flavor and tradition of an expertly blended smoke
The Kristoff is made with double fermented tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Along with the oily sheen of the Corojo wrapper on the natural or Brazilian wrapper on the Maduro, the unfinished foot gives these cigars a dramatic appearance. You'll find the flavors to be chewy, leathery with a clean finish. The strength builds slowly and becomes much more noticeable as you near the middle of the cigar.
My pre-light inspection showed an unfinished foot with a nice oily sheen to it. small veins on the cigar. Spice, pepper and toffee come off this cigar. Simple gold band that states "Elite Cuban Taste." I get a little skeptical when I see this, as they usually are trying to emulate something they are not. Fairly nice draw, although a little more restricted than i prefer.
This cigar lit well and drew well. Hints of burnt toffee, pepper and coffee cam out during early stages. Even burn on the first 1/3, but got a little uneven on the remaining 2/3. Draw also got more restricted as I smoked the cigar. I was no imptessed with the flavor of this cigar, as it was mild to medium. I would have expected more flavors with the Dorojo wrapper.
The last 1/3 of the cigar was ok to smoke, but continued with a restricted draw. Still had decent pepper, toffee and coffee. Hints of butterscotch showe through at times. Burn continued uneven. The smoke was a lt grey and ash was extremely flakey.
Overall, this cigar was just ok. Not a great cigar. I would smoke this one again, but would not go out of my way to find one. I expected this cigar to have more flavor, due in large part to its name. I rate this one as a 5 1/2 out 10. Perhaps this cigar would be best suited for someone with a more liking of mild cigars.
Hope this rating helps.
