  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

La Aroma De Cuba Immensa (5 ½” x 60)

Ill start off by saying that this cigar is by far the biggest ring guage I have had. This thing is HUGE! When I took the cellophane off of it, I noticed the nice dark wrapper, very smooth, with little to no veins in it. Just a piece of art to look at.

After having a bad bout with a head cold and some sinus issues, I am glad that that has all but subsided and I can actually SMELL again! The smell coming off of this cigar was insane. Nice woodsy, tobacco smells.

Once I punched it and took a pre-light draw, I could taste a bit of spice and some chocolate tones. Still that plain tobacco taste that I smelled earlier as well as the woodsy earthy taste as well. The stick was firm to the touch…not spongy at all.

Upon lighting it, I got the unmistakable taste of barnyard with spices. The aroma of the smoke coming off of it was every bit as intense as the prelight smell…it was just an awesome smell of the different tobacco’s. there was a lot of smoke coming off of this cigar and the tastes just kept intensifying.

The burn on this stick is razor sharp. This may be the best burn I have had so far in my newbieness of smoking cigars. Just a perfect burn all the way around the stick.

The first third of this puppy was a mixture of spiciness with that hint of chocolate and the nice soothing tobacco tastes along with the barnyard smells. Still a hell of a lot of smoke coming out of it through the first third. The ash finally dropped off after about two inches and I ended up having to relight it as it went out on me. No problem, though, as it relit easily.

On to the second third…Still have a spiciness on the lips and still a lot of smoke. There is still a hint of coffee/chocolate there, but not as pronounced now. There is more of a woodsy earthy flavor coming out of it. Just enough of the sweetness to keep me into it, though, past the halfway mark.

The last third of the La Aroma De Cuba Immensa was just as good as the first two…great flavors and a lot of smoke. Did not have to touch up the burn at all after the relight. The chocolate/coffee taste hung around as well as the woodsy, Earthy tastes that were there throughout the whole experience.

This was an awesome cigar and one that I will come back to again. Was it my favorite? No, but it ranks in my top five so far as to my limited experience. My rank from one to ten – Ill give it a 8.9.
