  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Long name, yeah...but worth doing the review. I'll keep it simple.

Cigar: La Aroma De Cuba
Size: 6 x 52 (Magnifico)
Wrapper: Mexico (Cuban Seed)
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

Got this cigar back in January 2011. I got a 5er which had already some age on them...so the one I smoke yesterday had 2 years aged. Humidity was REALLY high (above 85%) so I knew this was going to create me some burn problems.

- PERFECT construction...a beautiful box pressed cigar and great detailed band. I just wanted to stare at it the whole night.
- Great draw (on the loose side tho),
- Med-full Flavor: small pepper hint throughout the whole time. Some sweetness and some strange flavor that i couldn't identify. I researched a bit on internet and saw that some tasted raisins...maybe it was that but i couldn't identify (although it was good). It was really nice, great flavor shifts and great blend.
- Definitely medium body (No nicotine kick whatsoever...although I ate a huge burrito before the cigar)
- Almost razor sharp burn. Had a strong ash for an inch or so.
- Rich, dense and smooth smoke...when I say "dense" I mean TONS of smoke.

Issues
As I said, humidity was so high that i expected burn issues...well, i got 2: tunneling (twice) and had to relight once.

Conclusion? = Superb. Would buy a box if I could.

EDIT: Forgot to add SMOKING TIME = It lasted me 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Different smokes for different moods

EE is goto with morning pr afternoon coffee whereas I would reach for a mi amore on a Friday night with a beer
Yep...I find the EE's to be "Dry" while the Mi Amor is Spicy. Both great sticks and well worth the price.

Nice review. This is one of those cigars I really enjoyed, but haven't gotten around to trying again. I need to...

...I remember that raisan taste as well, it is a very interesting smoke.
