The other day, I went to Havanna's, and treated myself to one of these.
It is a Dominican Puro, with an above 90 rating, and looked like a nice treat.
The cigar was very nice looking, dark, oily, powerful looking, the lion wrapper subtly intriguing, but not distracting.
The 100 Años was firm, but not hard, didn't feel plugged, but maybe tight. I was correct,as the draw was a tad tight, but nothing worth really complaining about.
The cap was finished nicely. The pre-light draw was perfect.
Once lit, the cigar had a slow, even burn, a sign of the good donstruction it also lit easily.
The ash was firm and a white/gray, it did have a couple holes and fllakes here and there, but that didnt seem to bother the burn.
My only issue was that this cigar seemed to burn really hot. For the first time ever, I really felt the heat in the cigar, at times almost uncomfertably hot in my hand.
This was avery full bodied, powerful cigar. It burn for around 2 hours, and had me relaxed and zonked out for a the entire time and then some.
Overall, aside from the really hot burn, and the occasional flakes in the ash, this was a pretty perfect cigar I thought in my noobie opinioin.
For the first time, i really tasted some flavors, it had some earthiness and some coffee/cocoa? taste to it. I can't really explain it yet. But I am sure that skill will develeop.
It wasn't like a flavored Java, but a distinct coffee flavor/sense.
I give this cigar a definite high grade in the 90's somewhere. I wish it burnt cooler, but I wonder if maybe I was smoking it fast...I don't think so.
Anyway, great cigar if you can try it, not cheap,but great for a special occasion, need to take time to enjoy it though.
