La Aurora Preferido Platinum (Cameroon)
This little beauty has been resting in my humidor for a little over two years now. It was given to me by my wonderful girlfriend as a Christmas gift -- what better time to spark it up than in the blistering cold.
The La Aurora Preferidos are a work of art; I almost felt bad smoking it -- but smoke it I must!
The Platinum (Cameroon) has a rough, toothy wrapper with impeccable construction. The smell emanating from this stick was that of a barnyard with a touch of heaven.
The initial light...
The smoke is that of a sweet tobacco with hints of cedar and oak. A "woody note," I'd call it. It has a similar flavor to that of the Arturo Fuente Short Story, only more pronounced and sweet. I assume it's because of the cameroon wrapper; one that's becoming a fast favorite of mine.
Once the Platinum gets going it gets even more delightful. It still has that sweet cameroon flavor and "woody note," but it begins to get a touch of spice on the finish. It's not very strong, but it's there.
I can't recommend this cigar enough. It has:
You owe it to yourself to try this cigar.

I can't recommend this cigar enough. It has:
Impeccable construction - It looks like God rolled it. The burn was razor sharp and never required a touch up. The ash held on for about an inch and a half.
Interesting and Delicious Flavors - While it wasn't the most complex stick, the flavors it did have were enticing enough for me to nub it. Sweet tobacco, cedar flavors, oak flavors, and just a hint of spice.
You owe it to yourself to try this cigar.
