  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

La Barba Box Pressed Robusto

Size: 5x50

Price: $8.95

Smoke Time: 1hr 20min

Construction & Appearance: The band is awesome. Just look at it. How cool is that? Nice triple cap and a clean box press. The construction looks very good.

Pre Light Draw: Nothing notable.

First 3rd: Cinnamon, Earthy, and Wheat Bread. The cinnamon only lasted for the first few draws. The cigar started to taste the way a bottle of vitamins smells. I can't say I'm a fan of that flavor. Burn is ok for being windy as hell outside.

Second 3rd: Getting very tannic. It's really starting to dry my mouth out a lot. Oak is starting to come through a little, but over all the flavors are muttled and bitter. The bitterness is making it ver difficult to pick out any distinct flavors.

Final 3rd: Some coffee and oak notes but really it's just more bitterness. The wrapper cracked before I removed the band but it didn't get any worse than what you can see in the picture.

Final Thoughts: I really had high hopes for this cigar. Based on looks I thought I was in for a good smoke but there was really nothing good about it. I'm hoping that it's just in a sick period but I can't say that I'd shell out another $9 to give this cigar a second chance. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has smoked one of these. Did I just get a bad cigar?

Score: 70/100
