  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

La Flor Dominicana Maduro Chiselito

Strength: Full
Size: 5 x 44
Country: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Maduro

After reading Mitch's cigar buzz thread, i started licking my lips about smoking
another one. Last night it wasn't as cold as it had been so I grabbed the Chiselito
and went into my backyard....

I was going to use this wedge/triangle punch, but i didn't take my keys
with me so I used my cutter. The flavors that i got were, sweet tobacco, faint cedar,
a little bit of hay, cocoa, pepper, and cinnamon.

I lit the foot and immediately got a pepper blast (a definite sign that you're smoking
one of Litto's sticks!) followed by cedar, and sweet tobacco. One of the things i've
noticed as of late, that sweet fragrant tobacco shows up a lot....

After about 15-20 mins I started getting into the second third. The sweetness died out,
and now im tasting cedar, grass, and light pepper that sort of lingers on the palate.
The smoke is very voluminous. I find myself inhaling a little bit nasally, and im not
sneezing ironically.

It's in this section that the strength begins to kick in! It's gradually going from
medium full to full in this third! One thing is for sure, Litto is not scared
of nicotine! *lol*

I'm approaching third base getting ready for the home stretch! I'm into the final third
of the cigar, and the strength has picked up immensely! This was supposed to be a
quick smoke, but i'm probably about 45 to 50 mins at this point! The sweet tobacco
has come back, the cinnamon and spice are apparent, a little pepper. The body is
completely full at this point! I'd eaten probably an hour and a half prior. We cleaned
the pots last night so there were no leftovers in the fridge! (Shame on me!)

I've probably corrected this stick 5 times overall, not a surprise because of the Ligero
present. The cedar is very pronounced, i tasted clean tobacco, pepper, and the nicotine
is kicking my butt! My stomach has started hurting, from the nicotine, its 11pm and its
time for me to go to bed. I put this bugger out, and went inside....

total time smoking approximately 1 hour

Great review E! I really like these but I don't smoke them often enough. Great pics too.

Love the review and pictures.

I've had a couple of Chiselitos (the regulars, not the maduro) and loved them. Spicy and peppery -- fantastic.

Well done! Very nice review! Go ahead take a bow. I've heard many of good things of Litto the Great but yet to try his cigars. I do have a couple resting in the humidor though thanks to a very generous brother.

Great review and pics!! I have two of these in my humi resting so i have not had one yet. I really like all of the LFD line so far and this one sounds like another winner.
