  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well, a lot of people are enjoying lanceros, so I thought I would review the LFD Air Bender Villano. That's right, Litto Gomez created another cigar in his already popular brand. This 7.5 X 38 cigar is just another example of a fine cigar, which has caused many people to take notice of. Created with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Dominican filler and binder, which is from the La Canela Farm in the Domincan Republic. One might think that this cigar might be weak, based on the name, Air Bender. But, that my friends is far from the truth.

This cigar sports a small pigtail cap and a nice medium brown wrapper. With slight veins running the entire length of this cigar, there were no construction issues noted. The feel was firm with the right amount og spring. I felt no soft spots. Pre-light and cut hints of wood and pepper came throuh on this cigar. After cutting the cap with the best cigar cutter ever made, my Palio Carbon Fiber, I was able to taste black and red pepper, cedar, coffee and a slight fruity sweetness. Pre-light draw was excellent. Just the right amount of restriction.

I toasted the cigar with my Dupont Xtend lighter. This cigar immediately took off with lots of smoke. Pepper, cedar/oak, a slight hint of a vanilla with cherry and coffee shined through. The burn was excellent and no construction issued developed. The flavors lasted throughout the first and second third. A hint of licorice and cinnamin came forth, but this did not overpower and added to the flavor. I enjoyed the complex flavors. It was not too strong and definitely not too weak.

As I hit the final third, pepper and wood were everpresent with the sweetness still there. The burn was excellent, as you can see in all of the pictures. I experienced no draw issues. I was able to nub this one, as I honestly could not put it down.

Overall, the flavor and strength were medium bodied. I enjoyed this one from start to finish. Although this cigar did not have the big booming punch of Litto's other cigars (Ligero), this one was very good. It was a nice change of pace from the other full bodied cigars I enjoy. Since I bought this one in California, paying $8.99 for this one, I am sure you can find them at a more reasonable price point, say $7.50 to $9.50.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would solidy rate this one at a 9.3. Litto has provided us with another good cigar to add into our rotation. As always, I hope my revieww helps. It is meant to give you an idea of the flavors I taste, but keep in mind my flavor profile and preferences may not be the same as yours. Thanks for taking the time to read this review.

Be safe, watch your six, smoke something great and create a memory with a friend.

Great review! This is the stick in the Air Bender line that I've been wanting to find a deal on, since I've yet to try it. I love the Air Bender line. Glad you had a great stick, Bill!

Nice review...Have not tried any lancero but I really want to try a few. My B&M stock these, looks like I need to pick one up.

Sounds great, Bill! Thanks for sharing another fantastic review and pics!

I had my first lancero (was a My Father) a few weeks back... LOVED the vitola! And when Dutch took care of me on my family weekend to Tulsa, he loaded me up with quite a sampler of lanceros. I may have to add this one to my "Try" list, as well! Thanks again, Bill!!

Great review.

As a fan of the Air Bender line I can say the lancero is my favorite vitola; the flavors are amped up a few more notches in the lancero.
