  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have smoked two of these cigars in the past week, as a result of the Dog Watch Cigar Club. It is part of the Reserve line of LFD, created in 1997. It has Nigaraugan and Domincan filler, Dominican binder and a Conneticut wrapper, either in Natural or Maduro. Both of the cigars I smoked were Naturals.

This cigar is a 4 1/2" x 32/54 cigar, a true perfecto.

Pre-lighty inspection shows this cigar has very minor veins, a well made wrapper and scents of wood, mild white pepper and wheat. Pre-light taste gave off a honey taste on the tongue and a good, unrestricted draw.

After using my Palio, I toasted the cigar. Very easy cigar to light and draw was exceptional. Hints of wood (Cedar), light coffee, wheat and honey came through on this cigar. First third of the cigar was good and continued in the second third. The burn was very steady and the draw remained very good. Lot's of blue grey smoke emitted from this cigar. Light white pepper still came through at time, as did wood and minor nuts. The ash was a nice white/grey and well packed.

The final third was still giving off the woodiness and wheat flavors. Burn was good with only a minor correction necessary. The draw remained excellent from start to finish. I nubbed this one, until it finally was too hot to handle (Didn't have my Henry's nubber.)

This is a good, medium bodied, complex flavored cigar. Took 55 minutes to smoke and was enjoyable throughout the entire cigar. It's a cigar in the $5-6 range, except in California where we get our 47% taxes. On a scale of 1 - 10, I rate this one as a 8.7 cigar. Although it is milder than I generally smoke, it was still a good smoke. I will definitely purchase and smoke some of these in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to read!
