La Flor Dominicana Salomon (March Release)
Size: 7 x 64
Origin: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican
Price: $23.00
Throughout the cigar there are several flavors, but the main flavor was a distinct taste of leather. The Salomon started off with a very mellow smooth leather with hints of spice. This stick didn't start with the usual blast of pepper that LFD's are known for. The spice slowly worked its way into the 1/3, grew in intensity and faded toward the second half of cigar. There was hints of an earthiness that came and went, while the leather remained the primary flavor. During the second half, the Salomon developed a creamy cocoa sweetness, mixed with the leather and spice which grew until it was time to put it down. The finish was a peppery earthiness, that didn't linger long and left the palate feeling clean and ready for more.

Appearance Construction
This is one of the most esthetically pleasing cigars I have seen. It has a beautiful rich chocolate wrapper that is very slick and covered in oil. There are some small veins throughout the cigar, but this stick is the closest to flawless as it comes. Slight squeeze test revealed a solidly constructed cigar with no soft spots. This is a solid stick that carries some serious weight to it.Flavor

Burn - Ash - Draw
Burn was razor sharp the first 2/3. The final third needed a few touch-ups, but this was more than likely from a little neglect on my part. The draw was absolutely perfect and produced a ton of smoke almost effortlessly. Another thing that impressed me about this was how long the ash held. I finally knocked the ash of at the half-way point, just about 3 inches.Overall Impression
Total smoke time was somewhere around 3-3 1/2 hours. Without price consideration it was a great cigar. When you take into account the size, and smoke time it isn't hard for me to justify spending $20+, but the price may be a bit steep. I would say this is a medium-full cigar, that was multi dimensional and kept me interested. I recommend that anyone who can get a hold of one to give it a try.
