  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Another long named cigar...box-pressed...one of my weaknesses...

Cigar: La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Obelisco
Size: 5 x 44 x 57
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Domincan, Nicaraguan Ligero

I must admit, every time I see a General Cigar stick, I go with low expectations. I've read so much and tasted some which have bad reviews and I know why: they are bad. Ok ok...maybe not all of them, but many are.

Then, why did I smoke this? Well, I got some cigars from a friend since im working with him, helping him out on some business. He's paying me with cigars...and most of them are from General Cigar. Anyways, my low expectations received this one...

- Perfect, great, amazing draw...
- Good ash, but as you can see on the image, a little flaky at some points.
- Mild to Medium body...really smooth.
- Medium to Full Flavor: I got caramel and cocoa...Really, it was CRAZY. The moment I started to smoke it, everyone next to me was like: "dude, what's that cigar? It smells incredible". Some small spice was fighting its way with the caramel but couldn't beat it lol.
- Good construction. The obelisco form, like a pyramid, was very solid...it felt weird when holding it but overall, great.
- Tons of smoke...a rich smoke, not very dense but tooons of smoke (Next time I smoke one, i'll show you how much)
- Warm burn. It burned kinda warm, and at the end it was too hot for me to finish it to the nub.
- Smoking time = 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Conclusion?

An outstanding cigar. It would've been perfect if it had a better ash and burn.

PS: Feels weird/great to read reviews on the internet and see how you got the same profile other people did.

Thank you for the review! One of my favorite cigar lounge's has Mike Giannini from LGC coming next month and having an LGC event. This is one of the cigars I have planned to smoke that day. Glad to see I am in for what seems like a treat.
