The BurgerMeister
the devil is a busy man.
no pics, as i was smoking outside in the dark and my phone's camera doesn't have a flash... but here some info: (click it.)
Oscuro Fuerte. well, what do you expect with a name like that?
this was a nice, bold stick... but it wasn't the strongest i've had. it's up there, though. this was either the robusto or toro vitola... i think it was the toro. construction was top notch, with a thick, rough wrapper. kinda fuzzy, y'know?
in the beginning, i was hit with a generous amount of pepper and leather flavors. there was a subtle sweetness there, like honey. the finish was long, but not heavy, and was very leathery.
the burn was good and even, and the draw was near perfect.
at the halfway point, the pepper flavor became more subtle. the dominant flavors were leather (still), earth, and a slight grassiness.
by the end, the flavors were mostly leather and wood, and the sweetness became stronger.
i'm thinking the Cu-Avana Intenso would be a pretty good comparison. i'll have to smoke another one of those soon... see which one i like better.
all in all, this was a very enjoyable cigar to cap off the night. i got this along with 5 other LHCs in a sampler pack as a free gift with my last CI order. i will review the standard LHC in the near future.
GRADES:
Appearance... B no holes, no major discoloration. not the nicest wrapper i've seen, but pretty damn nice.
Construction... A solid and consistent.
Burn... B+ near perfect. went uneven once or twice, but nothing drastic at all.
Draw... B+ near perfect. a tad bit looser and it would've scored an "A."
Flavor... B- nice, but not as well balanced as i would've liked.
OVERALL GRADE... B
happy smoking, brothers! and now....
