Having somewhat dissed this stick the first time around and being a firm believer that all sticks deserve a second chance, especially considering that LFD's body of work has more than earned that much and more. It is with that as the background, I spark the second of two of these.
Oh yeah, I had a dinner of pasta with Turkey and Sausage. So, I am pairing this with a cup of Peet's Coffee.
Prelijght:
This stick is a thing of absolute beauty. Oils and a nice band. Berries and leather are present upon sniffing the foot. The draw is tight as this baby is densely packed. I detect tastes of leather and earth.
Ok, enough chatter, the only way to determine if it's a good cigar is to burn one. So here we go.
First Third:
Unlike the first time the Ligero is not predominant, I'm getting leather, burnt almonds and white pepper from the thick, chewy smoke. So far, it's nothing to write home about.
Second Third:
After a couple purges and re-lights the same flavors I picked up in the first third remain prevalent. Only the white pepper has moved to the forefront. If not for wanting to give this stick the benefit of the doubt, I'd ditch this thing.
Final Third:
Never made it. After another relight the time and effort was just too much.
In conclusion, while I remain an avid fan of LFD, this one, try as I might, is not for me. I found there to be little to no complexity in this stick and life is too short for meh sticks especially at this price point.
