  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In trying to select a cigar to smoke while mowing the yard this morning, I came upon this little guy buried in the bottom of the humidor. Weighing in at a diminutive 4 3/8 x 42, I figured it would be just what the doctor ordered...if the doctor ordered such things . The La Riqueza are made with Nicaraguan filler/binder and is graced with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The cigar is a tan color, tight seams, triple cap. It gives off an aroma of spices and faint earth.

The cap cut cleanly and the draw, while a little tighter than I prefer, was acceptable. The cold draw carried flavors of tobacco and earth.

The cigar lit quickly and the predominant flavor right off the bat was an earthy wood with a bold pepper kick on the retro-hale.

As the cigar progressed the flavors didn't change any so this isn't really a complex cigar. The burn was excellent, the ash held strong and tight (falling in about 1/2" clumps), and the smoke output was adequate.

The cigar stayed cool throughout, but unfortunately it went out shortly after I took the band off. Since I was mowing and there wasn't much cigar left I didn't bother to relight it. I simply chewed on the stump while I finished up.

Overall a pretty nice cigar, I wasn't too fond of the flavor profile though. Would I buy more? Probably not, but only due to the flavor profile and others will undoubtedly love this cigar.
