  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

As i was studying for class today I sparked up one of these sticks and while I nubbed it and the overall experience was nice, I still think these need at least another 6-12 months of rest. At that time I think they will be classics.

The one I had today had a very easy (almost too easy) draw. It put out copious amounts of white, billowy smoke. The predominant taste I picked up was a cross between nutmeg and molasses and I was not mad at that.

The burn line was fine, and although it went out a couple of times, I was glad it was my stick of choice today.

Pete...you got a winner on your hand with that one.

I have had a total of 5 so far. I still think they need some down time but I really like the churchhill right now. Just having some burn issues and going out sometimes.

Thank you for the quick review.

I thought Ciggy or someone had an updated 2008 La Verite churchill thread going but I couldn't find it...

that said, I'm burning through one of these right now - almost done actually. Tony's review is spot on, although I'm having no burn problems. Construction is immaculate.

I'm halfway tempted to go to my local B&M and clean them out of their remaining stock. This is milder than other Tatuajes - both in flavor and in strength. Well... let me restate that... the flavors are much more delicate. Not "in-your-face" pepper.

The draw is a tad bit loose, but not problematic considering the billows of smoke coming out.

There isn't nearly enough complexity to really rate this too high, so maybe not quite worth the price tag - for example the Sir Winston offers a much broader and indepth palate - but this is definitely up there as it pertains to Pete Johnson products for me. Quite a good smoke.

I haven't cracked my box of 2009s yet, but I think the "futures" pricing on those puts the price/reward ratio in proper alignment when considering the 2008.
