Laptop Battery

I need a new one for a Dell E1505. Anyone know of a cheaper site than Dell itself? I'm not wild about paying over $130 and having to wait 3-5 weeks for it.

how do yo uknow you need a new battery?

Curious cuz my battery/power light blinks orange four times then green once. Troubelshooting says my battery is too hot to charge, but that's not the possible all the time. I'm thinking i need a new battery.

Crap I was gonna say use a coupon code and get one from batteries.com but they only have the OEM one and its $180 before the coupon (which is only 15% off).

When I got a replacement for my powerbook they had their own brand that was cheaper and it worked fine, but in this case you are SOL unless someplace else has the battery cheaper.

The battery won't hold a charge and only lasts for may'be an hour and when new it was good for 4 hours or so, IIRC.

Pacific Battery

I bought the battery from Pacific Battery for about $100. It wasn't what I wanted to spend but was cheaper than going with Dell.
It was shipped on time and was bubble wrapped and had some kind of foil/xray wrap under that.
So far I'm pretty happy with it, I get 5+ hours on 1 charge which REALLY beats 1-2 hours.
I went with the offbrand and not Dell specific battery. So, I'll update this thread when I remember to so folks can know how it's holding up.

I have to get a new one for my E1505 also.

Only.. mine lasts 5 seconds MAX without being plugged in.

Man that was way worse than mine ever was! The battery is still going strong. And I still get 5+ hours per charge.
