Hello all. So these wont be your typical reviews. These will be short sweet and to the point.
Las Cal- Initial Smell/ Observation. Wrapper is nice and tight. Firm to the touch. Smells like a nutty cedar
- First Draw wow smooth and nutty! A little tight of a draw was hoping it got better but it never did
- The whole cigar seemed a little young as there were a lot of flavors and the transitions were hard.
- Mid way through I was able to describe this cigar as chunky peanut butter.
-I can see this cigar getting better with age. I just hope more don't have this much of a tight draw. (I need to invest in a draw poker)
- If draw is not an issue buy 5 or more to age and see how they develop. Its nothing like the 14' if i could compare it to any other cigar it would be a smoother tatuaje Drac
La Colmena Unico
- Ive been itching to try this cigar. It would Be my second warped cigar ever. First being the La hacienda( I didnt like to unrefined/ very grassy)
- Initially I was blown away by the initial Cubanesque flavor and was impressed by the draw. The draw was perfect! the burn was even and the ash was long. Construction was flawless.
- The flavors I got could be described as Ginger Salt Honey Nut Cheerios! Definetly a profile Ive never had. The flavor wasn't in your face it was ultra smooth but something about the profile i couldn't put my finger on that kept me from loving this blend. Perhaps im use to more body? If viaje is in your face ligero bombs this was the exact opposite.
- While the blend for me isnt an instant hit. It is def worth trying and will be picking more up to see if i can acquire the taste as i really want to like these. Def a great morning smoke with a cappuccino. Very Cubanesque but also very fruity and super creamy...Is it possible to say too creamy? Come to think of it...Its like more refined and better built TESA vintage especial.
