The idea in this thread is to gather what x leaf from y source smells like, works like, looks like, tastes like, etc.

I'll start off that Florida Sumatra wrapper grown by Larry Butcher in Owensville Kentucky*-. These leaves are certainly not large. Between rain and trying to grow them organically, they just never grew, says Larry. But they are at least large enough to wrap a robusto without much waste at all. So very soft and supple. A shade leaf color; maybe a tad yellower than shade. Pay attention to this, now: Larry's leaves are not aged. Not fermented. They have that raw hearty tobacco barn odor. Sweaty, robust, and workmanlike. Mark also that the undersides of these leaves still have so much sticky leaf sap on them that if you fold a leaf up, then when you pull it apart the fold sticks together. Your hands get sticky and smellicious. Of course, this same sap kicks your azz when you smoke it. Loads of nicotine. Tastes like horse sweat. Those of you who love a good riding horse know what I mean. Those of you who don't, don't take it the wrong way. It's a hearty, lusty, horse leather flavor. Between vigorous flavor and rugged nicotine, you will not want to smoke this tobacco quickly. As far as how hard it is to work with, well, it lays down smooth, quick, and easy. Take a peek how nicely the cap lays down, here; how tightly the seams lay, on this fresh quickie:

Once the damp blotches dry out, this stick will have a classic cigar color to it.

Well worth a try.
