Are they like cigars in the sense that the flavors have time to meld and sort of 'marinade' with eachother?

All I know is that 9 times out of 10 they taste better than the original meal.

I think it depends on the meal...If it tasted like crap the first time them it might be the same after a couple days. But yea, I agree with ya.

Ya, exactly..The only thing that tastes good heated up is chinese food.

I'm not particularily a fan of leftovers myself.

Maybe it's more of a consistency thing, rather than melding flavours, it's more of congealed substance always good with a bit of salad - cold pizza, yum

It all depends on the meal. Home made spaghetti? Awesome. Leftover's from most restaurants? Blech.

I honestly think Spaghetti is the one leftover that truly improves. The sauce gets a chance to sink into the noodles...Yummmmm.

I call BS on this notion that leftovers taste better.

Want to know the real reason why leftovers seem to taste better? Because you get a cooked meal, without actually cooking.

I love left over pasta, better than when it was freshly cooked.
The only thing i don't like left over is beef, gets hard and chewy.

I lived in orange county for a while myself and never had good pizza out there. Then when I moved back to NJ, I found that there wasn't any mexican food worthy of what I had gotten used to. I guess its a toss up.

Pizza from a so called pizzaria usually is not so great-to someone like me. But you can find good pizzas out here...Just not as easily as back there where there's a pizzaria on every corner practically.
