  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It was released November 1st but a couple weeks ago when I was down in Chicago Binny's was selling this so I picked up a 4 pack. It's around $10.99 a four pack and it's brewed with 11 different malts and 3 different hops. The ABV is 9.5%.

It's real dark and heavy and I drank mine from a snifter. It had had a very thin head on top that was chocolate brown. I really liked it but it's definitely a beer you would drink one or two of. It was last made in 2007.

I am going to pick up a couple more 4 packs tonight as it's a limited release along with a couple six packs of Samuel Adam's Cranberry Lambic. I'm not a fan of fruit beers but I really like the lambic style of beer.

bmony, when you were in Chicago, do you remember seeing if they had any of the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout yet?
No I didn't see any. I was at the Binny's Beverage Depot right by Goose Island brew pub. I see that Goose Island is releasing 750 ml bottles of Bourbon County Vanilla, Bourbon County Cherry, and Bourbon County aged so I was looking for those. I was surprised they didn't have any four packs of the regular Bourbon County there.

I did get my fix later that night as I ate at Goose Island Brew Pub. Great food and greate beer!

That Leiny's sounds terrific!!
I know this time of year, I get excited to see their Fireside Nut Brown Ale come out! Love that stuff.
It's supposed to be out November 1st but have yet to find it at any local liquor stores. It's a bit pricey but I paid $64 for a case of Bourbon Barrel 2 years ago from a local brewery. I thought it was worth it, lol.
