Hello!
I guess this post will serve as both a review for the Liga Privada NO. 9 Belicoso and as my intro.
My name is Steve, I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I have been smoking cigars for about six months or so. I have been pretty much trying as many different cigars as I can. I have also been reading and learning a bunch about this hobby, mostly from this site.
Well I guess here is my review. This will be short and simple. Like I mentioned, I haven't been smoking for very long lol. :stretchgr
Liga Privada NO. 9 Belicoso
This was a long time coming. I have been reading these forums for a few months now and most people here speak very highly of the Liga Privada line.
One reason why I waited so long to smoke one of these is that I heard they are a fairly strong cigar. I was surprised to find out that it was not nearly as strong as I had anticipated, a good thing for me!
The construction of this cigar was pretty much perfect. A nice, dark, oily wrapper. It was easy to cut with no cracking or splitting. There was some resistance to the draw but nothing serious.
And now to light.
Everything lit up just fine. The first few puffs there was some earthiness to it, as well as sweetness and a little bit of spice.
A short while later the earthiness disappeared and the sweetness got stronger, there was a still some underlying spice.
Everything stayed pretty much the same for a while, and just as the sweet flavor was getting to be a bit overpowering, it started to subside. At the halfway point, I started to notice more and more of the spice coming through, a welcome change.
All in all, I love this cigar. Now I know why so many people here like the Liga Privada line. This is easily one of my favorite cigars so far.
The more I smoke, the more I am absolutely amazed how many different flavors and experiences different cigars can have. I look forward to trying more!
Thanks for reading!
