  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Review # 76
Price $9.45.- $19.
Strength: Full
6 x 52
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Wrapper Color: Maduro
Wrapper Origin: Connecticut
Wrapper Leaf Type: Broadleaf

Resting time: 5 months
Storage 67 degrees 67 humidity

Prelight: Subtle sweet smell with a hint of grass and apple

1st 1/3
Dark chocolate, black coffee, molasses, leather, cacao powder, spices and a nice creamy texture
Great draw and straight burn line and smoking medium in strength.

2nd 1/3
It now finishes with a bit of pepper and earth on the finish, continuing with the dark chocolate and coffee and staying very smooth.

Final 1/3
The leather and earth increase and the burn is staying very straight, never really was a full strength cigar to me
There's a lot of hype about this cigar and consumers have high anticipation and willingness to get one to try.

The cigar is constructed very well but there are so many better cigars out there for so much less out of you pocket.

Not to say that the cigar isn’t good, it’s just way over price along with the value, flavor ratio.

Cigars that beat this for me are the Kristoff Ligero Maduro Robusto, Casa Magna Colorado Gran Toro, Ashton VSG Enchantment, Genesis The Project by Ramon Bueso, Aquitaine EMH, Room 101 Daruma Sucio, Room 101 Master Collection One…
I could go on……

Smoke time: 1hr 35min
Score: 7.9 out of 10

LP #9 is pretty darn good...after 6 months of rest you might change your mind. These can be had per box on the auction sites for around $250.

I got a box of them for 227. and they are 5 months old, I don't think another month will magically make them change that much, there are reviews of how the #9 loses its flavors after sometime compared to others that age well

I'd recommend trying it again at a lower RH. These smoke good at 67, as marvelous at 63. IMHO.

Spot on review compared to my experience. Yeah, a very good cigar, but is it worth upwards of twenty bucks? Nah, compared to a lot of other sticks selling for a lot less.

Due to their higher prices I kind of veered away from them and go to a different cigar. I have a friend who absolutely loves them. So I guess it's to each their own. Eventually, I'll get my hands on one just to try it out. This is a great review of it though! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Let me hear it from the brothers out there who enjoy a UC as much as a No. 9. Especially when you take the price into consideration.....
