  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I said in the 'Todays Smoke' thread that I would post this last night, but the fiance came home from work sick so I had to take care of her.

This was my first T-52. After having smoked many #9s and really liking them, and then hearing about how the T-52s were better, I had to give them a try. Hope you guys enjoy

Liga Privada T-52
Size: 6x52 Belicoso
Drink: Water

Appearance: The wrapper on this stick is very dark, one of the darkest I've seen, and quite oily. It's solid and pretty hefty, almost no give in it. Head is kinda lumpy, but I'm cutting that part off anyways. The band is simple but classy. Overall a very pretty cigar.

Pre-light: Cuts easily for being so solid. Initial draw is loose, tastes of sweet cocoa and earth.

1st Third: Took a little extra time to get lit and going, I figure because of the thick wrapper and solid pack. First flavors are of leathery cocoa. Tons of smoke right off the jump. After 5-7 puffs the spice definitely kicks in.

The smoke from this stick is spicy-sweet and so thick you could almost cut it. Surprisingly smooth for a stick that I can tell is going to be strong.

2nd Third: The taste has blended to a coffee-ish taste, with leather and spice in the finish, which is clean despite how much flavor is in this.

At the halfway point I can definitely feel the strength, and its starting to give me a little nic buzz. Ash is kinda flaky, and drops about every inch.

Good heavy music on the mp3 player, helps me relax :glassesgr

Final Third: Spice and leather are dominating in a good way. Burn started to waver, put a little fire to it and it straightened out.

At the last 2" it started to get soft, but never really affected draw or taste. Again, I'm loving how smooth the flavors are. My fingers are gonna burn on this bad boy.

Final Thoughts: I love this cigar. It is definitely a step above the #9, in both strength and flavor. It would definitely be a cigar for after a nice thick ribeye steak. All the flavors blended and transitioned so well, I just didn't want to put it down. I gotta get more of these. If only the price were a little more in my range...

Smoking Time: 2 hrs (I took my sweet time)
Score: A (94)

Thanks for reading, guys!

Definitely agree with your review, these are fantastic sticks. Do you have any resting? These things are even more amazing with 6 months rest!

Been smoking cigars for over 20 years now (no expert), and this is one of my favorites....By far.

It's a thoroughbred cigar that is an absolute pleasure to smoke.

I also agree that these are superior to the #9 line, and THAT is saying a lot! (I created a "which is stronger...T52 or #9" poll. Most say the T52 is stronger)

Really tempted to grab a box of the double coronas....Man, that must be 2 1/2 hours of heaven :)

Thanks for the great review

Spot on review and made the same steak comment, too. I can't WAIT to have one after a meal like that!

Well done and thanks for sharing!
