*I did a short review format, wrote my notes while smoking it and then populated the specific cigar info afterwards for reference.
** I also want to reference a previous thread I had posted about a different size of this same cigar (I don't know if I ever specified that it was a different size in that thread - it was a double corona). I want to do this because they were a night and day difference for me and in all fariness I just feel its the right thing to do to provide a reference point for my differing opinions. Here is a link to the other thread: http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php/76326-Liga-T52-vs-No9
Cigar info:
Liga Privada T52 Belicoso (6x52)
Notes:
Dark deep brown oily body, firm draw, excellent burn but as most Ligas go it smokes a lot at rest. Not a bad thing unless it annoys you.
White ash. Some of the whitest ash I've seen in a long time.
Great aroma from the smoke. I can't quit place it though. I'm thinking a mellow roasted coffee, maybe a bit of sweetness.
The flavor from the draw is deep and complex at the same time. I'm getting bursts of a sugary sweetness followed by a quick stab of espresso. Very interesting and quite the opposite of my previous T52 which was mediocre at best. The previous one was a double corona. Maybe size makes a difference here.
The ash seems to be hanging in very well also. Another difference from my previous T52. This stick may be redemption for the previous one.
Got about an inching ash and she let go. No warning! Cest la vie. It's still smoking well and seems to be kicking harder than the previous one as well.
This has turned out to be a good/great smoke. Smoked well all the way through, kept the roasted coffee flavor all the way through but mellowed on the sweetness early on.
I would recommend this particular size of this cigar as a must try. It was such a pleasure to have a different experience with this stick vs the previous one and goes to show that some things do come in small(er) packages.
