List of Tasting Notes

Maybe this will help some of you with reviews. Here is a list of some flavors you might find in a cigar:

Earth, Wood, Oak, Hickery, Pine, Grass, Cedar, Peat, Barnyard, Hay, Charcoal, Green (as in not yet mature enough), Leather, Toast, Pepper, Salt, Floral, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Spicy, Herbs, Cloves, Mint, Paprika, Sugarcane, Ginger, Saffron , Meaty, Green Pepper, Citrus, Lemon, Raisins, Fig, Cherry, Prunes, Fruit, Berry, Roasted Nuts, Walnut, Peanuts, Macadamia Nut, Chestnuts, Coconut, Graham Cracker, Shortbread, Licorice, Tea, Red wine, Espresso, Coco, Coffee, Cream, Chocolate, Vanilla, Honey, Caramel, Molasses, Butter, etc.

Try smoking a cigar and see which of these flavors you can taste. Maybe now you are ready to write a review.

Yes... Macadamia Nut is a new one for me... You've got quite a good list yourself.

big fan of notes like ammonia and oleander... I enjoy cigars that taste poisonous! :hysterica

Peat. With some ligero-laden sticks I get some "peaty" flavors.

Can't say I've ever gotten lemon...

BrooksW has a interesting flavor wheel.... He's got some flavors I have never tasted.

One of the first times I really picked up a taste that stood out was hazelnut on a aged Camacho Select. After that the game was one. One of the hardest to figure out was fig, and I get liquorice more in a reto-hale. Another nut that I have gotten is brazilnut. Anyway a lot of taste out there to pick up. And yes sometimes I do get a rich tobacco flavor.

I just know if it's a "fuck me" cigar I enjoy it.

it takes YEARS of refining your palate to be able to discern the subtle nuance between the two. ..... as chuck well knows!
