  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The inspiration for the Litto Gomez Diez line was discussed in depth during the LG Small Batch 3 review I did several weeks ago. So rather then use this review as an opportunity to introduce, re-familiarize or affirm for you the concept and history of this line I’d like to try something a little different. I’d like to compare it to another high end Dominican puro, the standard production Opus X. My last review was of the Opus ”Fuente Fuente” vitola and I know that since the Lusitano is a whopping Toro that this isn’t exactly an apples to apples comparison, but even though the difference in dimension and size will undoubtedly provide different smoking characteristics and flavors I have confidence that I’ll be able to tell which I enjoyed more.

Great review! I just wish I got some of thoes taste profiles you mentioned. All I taste is earth and leather. I also found this to be a dry smoke, so not one of my favs from Litto. However, the one I had was younger so maybe that was the diff!

You know, sometimes I wonder about my palate ... I seem to get a lot of sweeter flavors off of sungrowns but a lot of folks seem to get a predominance of leather, which I hardly ever taste.

Then again a lot of folks get chocolate off of maduros and I usually get wood. *shrugs*
