London, Ontario - Sept 10th - Group Blind Tasting Herf

While enjoying a fine Opus X and solving the world's problems, WilfredSimpson and I came up with an idea. We're going to host a blind tasting herf at his place in London, Ontario on Saturday Sept. 10th, 2011 from 12pm-whenever.

Here's how it's going to go. We're going to order one each (per person) of five different cigars (from Derek @ Federal Cigars). Prior to the herf, we're going to remove the bands and place them in to numbered baggies. Then, starting at noon on the 10th, we'll spark them one at a time, as a group, and discuss our thoughts on the sticks and try to guess at what they might be. We can also live blog it on the site for anyone that wants to follow along.

The cost is going to be $50 per person, and that is only to cover the cost of the cigars. Shawn (wilfredsimpson) and I will provide some bbq fodder and snacks/soft drinks. If you pay the $50 and are unable to attend, I will mail the cigars to you anyway so no worries there.

The idea is that none of us know what we're smoking until afterwards. You just have to trust me that you'll get your $50 worth in cigars.

Due to logistics of needing to ship the sticks (and me not wanting to shell out $50 x each person coming), I'm going to need a solid commitment (ie payment) by the end of July. As I said, if you end up not being able to make it, no problem - I'll just mail you the cigars.

Cash, cheque, money order, peepail, whatever works.

Wish I could make it out and participate but I will be in Montreal that weekend attending my cousin’s wedding. I am interested in the smokes and the collective tasting notes of each stick from the herf though.
