  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Ronson JetLite... Under three bucks at your friendly neighborhood Wally World. Besides, it makes a torch flame just like any other $50+ lighter, just make sure you purge it and refill with good, multiple-refined butane before you set any sticks on fire.

There is a Xikar lighter call an Executive that retails for $24.95.

Comes with the unconditional lifetime Xikar warranty and know a couple guys that have had theirs for years w/o problems.

I have never owned one, so no first hand experience, but hope that helps.

+1 on the Ronson Jetlite!

Spend 3 bux on the torch and 10 on a can of triple filtered fuel and you'll have a friend for life.

Spend 30 on a torch and 3 bux on the fuel and I don't care what you buy, it'll piss you off the entire time.

Bottom line is buy the good fuel and the torch will perform at its best.

Sticking with a budget torch will help you decide what sort of flame you prefer while you are still getting the hang of things... some guys prefer a soft flame over the torch and if that ends up being you, then you won't be out much coin.

I know it's got a lifetime warantee, but it doesn't hold enough fuel and you'll have to use the warrantee. I sent mine back twice, and finnally gave up oniy. it does have a sweet side button ignition, witchis very comfortable

Interesting that you brought that up - I switched to Vector 5 times filtered and have yet to have any of my torches have a problem...

Can't go wrong with something that has a lifetime warranty either!

ps - nice play JJ

It is a little more than you were looking at ($40 or so), but I love my Blazer PB207. The fuel reservoir is huge and it's been pretty reliable.

The Ronson Jet Lite is a great lighter, especially at the $3 price point. :)

+1 on only using good fuel!

The Blazer PB207 is a good single flame lighter. It has a large tank and the fuel level is visible. A friend gave me one about a year ago that was a pretty old one. I didn't have a lighter on me at the time and he had a bunch so he told me to keep it. It's pretty beat up, scratched and has seen a lot of used but the thing still works great.
