  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

My first experience with a poker was yesterday. Saved me eight bucks! It only cost ten. I could see this one paying itself off. I think the name brand was "The Draw Poker".

I have parts machined to make a poker similar to the Petrolygraph but I've yet to muster the ambition to take on another project.

Just to let everyone know the Henry's cigar tool is not longer available. I have not been able to contact Henry or the guy that was helping him so I have not been able to get more of his cigar tools. So for the time being they are no longer available.

The Henry's are awesome. It's saved a number of cigars for me. I swear 2 out of 3 Padilla '32 perlas are plugged. Now granted sometimes the act of unplugging pops the cigar because it was just packed WAY to tight.

Go to the supermarket and pick up a pack of bamboo skewers, there cheap and work well.
And then you can stick them in the end of the cigar and smoke it into a tiny nub. I second vote these as a plug tool, my other favorite is a rat tail jewlers file, they bore out a nice hole if you twist on them a bit.

I use a piece of 1/16" stainless welding rod that I bent a ring onto the end, and turned the end down into a sharp point. I cut it to fit into my travel humi where it lives.

I've been pretty lucky lately, I haven't had to break it out in months.

So how do you use a poker device? I'm using a shish-kabob stick for now--do I insert at the head and push towards the foot? (that sounded creepy...)

I'd love to trade a few sticks to someone who has an extra draw-poker lying around. PM me if you have one.

(sorry for the threadjack)

Just like that is how I do it. As creepy as it indeed might sound.
