  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have a xikar right now and use it religiously. I really would like to start using a punch again. What are you guys using?

Ive got a handful of "cheapies" ($2.99 punch from the local B&M)... I keep one in my laptop bag, one in my briefcase, one on the key ring, etc..etc.. and I have a couple of torches that have punches built into them...

I rarely use a punch.. I prefer a straight cut.. but its nice to have a punch on me all the time just in case... and its easy to travel with, etc...

I second everything here. Usually use the V cut, or straight, but do have a few cheapies just in case. I cant remember if people say that a punch is better for smaller rg or larger rg cigars. Also, I have one of the Nub punches thats I got in the accessory kit, but I rarely use that.

Xikar 9mm bullet punch big enough for large cigars and almost opens up a corona completely just leaving the shoulder of the cap.

A cheapie $4 one from a B&M in vegas when I forgot my cutter a couple years ago. Now lives on my keychain, still punches as clean as the day I bought it.

Cheers :ccool:

I've got a punch on my triple flame torch, like many of the models out there - it works for most of my cigars aside from the bigger ring gauges.

I have the Xikar 11mm punch that came out recently. It's larger than most punches, but that's what I actually like about it. The blade is secure when closed, and I can always send it in for repairs/replacements. Given that most punches live on key chains and get beat up a lot, I highly recommend Xikar due to the warranty.

I find myself using a punch more often lately, mainly because I can't find my cutter, that and my Prometheus lighters all have punches built into them, the tabletop triple flame has 2 different sizes which is really convenient.
