  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm not familiar with the brand, but it looks just like a cheapy that I have. Dual flame, it's decent enough for the price. I think I paid about ~$20 as in your link.

I do have a Colibri that I bought at a local B&M for ~$50 a year ago. I like the design, has a punch that flips out & have been using it steady for the year with no issues. I would definitely recommend the brand & the one in your link looks cool, esp for the price.

IMO these are 2 different classes your looking at. If you want to experiment with a dual or soft flame I don't think you can go wrong for $20, but I don't think there is any real comparison to be made here.

Don't know anything about Lucienne's, but I would never buy another Colibri torch. Their soft flame/flint ignition lighters are pretty decent, though.

I just clicked on your link to the Lucienne and see that it is on Tompson's website. I would shoot myself before I ever buy anything from them again. Once they get you on their calling list, getting them to stop is like trying to get the IRS to stop hassling you (so to speak :nodlaugh:).

I've never used thier lighter , but I do use thier fuel.
I have used nothing else for years and swear by it.
Hey, for $20.00 what have you got to lose.
I'm from the cheap lighter school. I have never paid more than $25.00 for
one with the exception of my IM Corona Old Boy. That I never use and just sits in its case.

Colibri's get a bad rap, and I am sure there is a reason. That being said I have had one for 6 years that still works like new.
