Macallan director's edition

Hey so i was at my local costco and saw this next to the Macallan 12.


I've searched and cant seem to find any info about it's age. All it says is part of the 1700 series which the Macallan site doesn't even have info on. So anyone know how long this is aged for? It's going for the same price as the 12 so leads me to believe it's around a 10yr with more time in sherry casks. Anybody try it? is it on par with the 12?

Looks like they're going to start replacing the Fine Oak and Sherry Oak line. Did you pick up a bottle? If so, how is it?

Edit: No indication of age on anything I've found, looks like they're basing this release more on color and taste.

didn't today but can't go wrong with a macallan so probably pick one up my next trip.
