Just smoked one of these last night and enjoyed it for the most part. It was until I got to maybe and inch and a half to the end when it really started burning my mouth bad. Now I have smoked cigars smaller than this with no problem. Is this common with this cigar or did I do something wrong? :dunno:
Keep in mind I am pretty much a noob when it comes to cigars.

My guess is you were smoking too fast. You can heat a cigar beyond enjoyment and lose a ton of flavor by drawing too often. This was a huge issue for me when i first started smoking. This is more common with smaller ring gagues and shorter cigars or as the cigar gets shorter. By the time it got hot there was a ball of burning tobacco about 1 inch from your lips. Turns out that fire is hot.

I think this may have been the problem. I was definately taking my time in the beginning, but as I got towards the end, my wife started buggin about coming in from the porch :stickbeat. I think I smoked it for about an hour and fifteen minutes, one of the longest smokes I've ever had. Guess I need to set more time aside for a more enjoyable smoke.
