One of the brothers suggested I use bar top sealer. I found Parks super glaze epoxy at HD. Supposed to be heat resistent

Nice. That stuff might be good for cigar-label tabletops and etc.

I'm sure it is but it's kind of expensive and you have to be very careful with mixing and pouring or you will have lots of small bubbles in the glaze.
