This wrapper is a fairly "natural" brown colored. not too light, not too dark. Couldn't tell you on what specific wrapper type though.
It was very nice looking though. No big veins, splotches, or noticeable imperfections.
It was firm to the touch, no hard spots and it wasn't too spongy.
Prelight draw was fairly tight ,but then i never know how much to cut on torpedo / pyramid shaped cigars.
First Third
Initials tastes I noticed were black pepper and spice. It was a bit creamy. Very tasty cigar. About an inch in, I tasted some bitterness. Just want to say that I don't smoke fast so i don't think its a result of anything I'm doing.
Also, there is a bit of tar at the head of the cigar at this point. I blotted it onto a piece of paper, then purged to see if it would clear. It helped temporarily.
Second Third
Honestly, the harshness picked up and I couldn't taste anything but ammonia. I purged again for 30 seconds with the lighter in front of the cigar, still didn't help. I even reclipped the cigar to get rid of the tar that built up on the end, still harsh. I had to put this one to rest.
Conclusion
So based on about the half of this cigar I could smoke it was pretty good. I think that with maybe 6 months or a year the harshness would go away.
The construction was excellent on this. The ash hung on for 2" before I accidentally knocked it off, and I didn't have to re-light it at all. The smoke was nice, but not very dense (couldn't blow smoke rings).
Too bad on the harshness.
